Ben Harrison holds a Juris Doctor from North Carolina Central University School of Law, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude in the Class of 2009. During his time at the university, he achieved an impressive class rank of 18 out of 180, and his academic prowess earned him membership in Law Review. Prior to law school, Harrison received a Bachelor of Science in Communication from the University of Miami, where he graduated Cum Laude in December 2003.

Before joining the Bar, Ben served as a Grant Writer at the Mitchell County Chamber of Commerce & Economic Development Commission in Spruce Pine, NC, and completed an internship in the Washington, D.C. Office of U.S. Representative Brad Miller.

Early in his legal career, Attorney Harrison joined the firm of Harrison & Poore as an Associate Attorney. In 2014, he started a solo practice in Boone, NC that focused on criminal defense, appellate practice, child support, and family law. Following private practice, he held the position of Associate Attorney at Mewborn & DeSelms in Jacksonville, NC, and then went on to act as Project Attorney at UnitedLex in Durham, NC, where he handled corporate litigation cases.

Harrison is the founder and president of Harrison Freelance Legal in New Bern, NC, where he is currently employed. His legal expertise lies in handling complex felony motions and skillfully managing a large caseload of Juvenile DSS cases, spanning across multiple counties. Attorney Harrison has been a member in good standing of the NC Bar since 2009.
