DWI

What is DWI?

In North Carolina, drunk driving is officially referred to as Driving While Impaired or DWI (sometimes called Driving Under the Influence or DUI). If the police-administered alcohol screening indicates that you operated a vehicle with a blood alcohol level of .08 percent or higher, you will be charged with DWI. It’s important to note that you can also be charged with DWI if you were impaired by marijuana, other illegal drugs, or prescription drugs while driving.
