Intersection of U.S. Highway 17 and Old Maplehurst Road (Onslow County; U-5735)

The Department of Transportation has scheduled a public hearing for this project on Thursday, March 1, 2018 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at the Center for Public Safety (200 Marine Blvd., Jacksonville).

The current plans for this project will convert  the current intersection of U.S. Highway 17 and Old Maplehurst Road in Jacksonville from a traffic light to an interstate style interchange with a bridge and exit ramps being constructed.  Based on the current plans, the Department will be taking new right of way, easements, and imposing control of access on some properties in order to complete this project.  Many land owners will have their property rights impacted by this project.  To see a copy of the current proposed plans click on the link below:
